John B. DuCharme is a founding
partner in the firm now known as DuCharme, Harp & Clark, LLP. He is
a 1984 graduate of Siena College (magna cum laude), and a 1987
graduate of Albany Law School. He has been in private practice
working as an attorney since January of 1988. In 1995, he became a
founding member of the firm. Since that time, he has been practicing
with the firm located in the Town of Clifton Park, County of
Saratoga, State of New York.
Mr. DuCharme is admitted to practice before all state courts located
in New York. He concentrates his state court litigation to the
counties of Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga and Schenectady. He also
represents clients in appellate matters before the New York State
Appellate Division, Third Department.
Mr. DuCharme is admitted to practice before the United States
District Courts in the Northern, Southern, and Western Districts of
New York, as well as, the District of Vermont. He also represents
clients in appellate matters before the Second Circuit Court of
Appeals, as well as, the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. DuCharme’s practice addresses a wide variety of issues
including: complex litigation and/or arbitration involving contract
disputes; employment litigation involving violations of state and
federal statutes and regulations; state and federal court litigation
involving personal injuries; and state court litigation involving
issues concerning matrimonial and family law. In addition, he has
represented clients in the negotiation of settlements reached prior
to trial.
Mr. DuCharme’s non-litigation practice includes the representation
of many business entities and healthcare providers with respect to a
wide variety of legal issues they face regarding their formation and
organization, governance, operation, implementation of their
personnel policies and procedures, interpretation of their employee
benefit plans, leasing of office space, the acquisition of real
estate, and other issues which businesses face today.
Mr. DuCharme is a member of the Saratoga County Bar Association. He
is also a member of the New York State Bar Association (the Health
Law Section, and the Labor & Employment Law Section).
